What's New

2004

November 2004 - D+A has received word that one of two electric propulsion proposals for which it provided editorial, graphics, and production services in April 2004—the "ECR Cathode" proposal—has been selected for funding. (Funding for the other proposal was denied because it was awarded a grant in NASA's H&RT competition. D+A also provided editorial and production services for the H&RT competition.)

October 2004 - D+A has been hired to design a full-page ad and update a capabilities brochure for Clinical Research Management.

September 2004 - D+A has been asked to develop approximately 40 videos of NASA science experiments for the Microgravity Combustion Web site. D+A will write the introductory titles, edit the raw video, develop the final product, create versions for high-speed and dialup users (both Mac and PC), and upload the files to the Web site.

August 2004 - D+A has learned that NASA Glenn Researchers won more than $24M in research funding in a competition that took place in June 2004. An 18-person team of D+A editors, graphic artists, layout artists, and proofreaders provided assistance to the NASA researchers.

May 2004 - D+A has been retained by NASA Glenn to assist researchers and scientists in the development of 18 proposals in response to an Intramural Call for Papers from NASA's Human and Robotic Technology program. As the first step in the process, D+A editors presented a proposal development strategy session to about 100 authors gathered at NASA Glenn and conducted coaching sessions for 80 authorial teams over two and a half days. The D+A Team—consisting of a program manager, an assistant program manager, four editors, five graphic artists, four layout artists, and four proofreaders—committed to producing the proposals in less than two weeks.

April 2004 - D+A has been asked by NASA researchers to help develop more than two dozen White Papers that will be used by managers at NASA headquarters to help shape the agenda for future space exploration.

March 2004 - D+A has been retained by electric propulsion scientists at NASA Glenn Research Center to assist in the development of two proposals in response to ROSS-2004, Research Opportunities in Space Science. The proposals are due at the end of April.

February 2004 - D+A has been asked to design and edit a fact sheet and poster describing the accomplishments of the NEXT scientists and researchers at NASA GRC in the development of the next generation ion propulsion system. The two-page fact sheet is available in PDF format (1.8MB).

NEXT fact sheet

January 2004 - D+A completed the redesign of NASA Glenn Research Center's Microgravity Combustion Science Web site. The 250-page site provides information about more than a dozen microgravity experiments and facilities.
